SYNOPSIS
This beautifully written play handles the delicate subject of the complexities and transitions of life in a very sensitive - and at times humorous - manner.
Eliot Pryne is a professor of literature, specialising in Shakespeare's King Lear. The play parallels Eliot's life with Lear's descent into 'madness'. The reunion of Eliot's three daughters forms the central theme of this sometimes oddly comic, yet very moving play. Taking Leave is thought-provoking, bitter sweet, insightful and, at the very core, a heartfelt celebration of life.
