SYNOPSIS

"Communicating Doors" is an ingenious comedy thriller that spans three time zones, each twenty years apart and linked by communicating doors. The play opens in a London Hotel room in the year 2014.

Poopay, a self-styled "sex therapist" has been summoned, not as she thinks, for her regular services, but instead to witness a document giving details of the murder of her client's two wives by his business associate. In attempting to escape, Poopay goes through the communicating door and finds herself back in 1994, face to face with Ruella, the second wife. Ruella is naturally sceptical about Poopay’s tale until she herself goes through the same door - and back in time - and meets Jessica, the first wife, whereupon she decides to seize the opportunity to rewrite the future.

"Communicating Doors" was a huge hit in the West End and on Broadway. It won the UK Writers' Guild Award for Best West End Play in 1996 and the Molière Award for Best Comedy in France in 1997.
