7:30 pm - St. Andrew's Community Centre
The Monthly Improv offers practice in improvisation for actors. We meet to exercise our listening and responding skills and for making quick choices to enhance the story. Improvisation is one of the core techniques used by actors. It stretches the imagination, sparks spontaneity, and can lead to unforgettable performances. It is about freeing up the mind so as to be more creative with choices and instincts
People practice improvisation for a whole range of reasons - some for performance, some to develop professional skills, and some who just love having a great time! Learning to:
-
Make simple, direct, and clear choices quickly.
-
Stay present, open, and in-the-moment.
-
Create and maintain an instant connection with your scene partner
Improv starts at 19:30 (doors open at 19:30) at the St. Andrew's Community Centre, Promenadengasse 9, 8001 Zurich. The next sessions are shown on this page.
Improv meetings are open to anyone and count towards your membership session count. For more information on membership, see the membership page.
Please note: Improv only runs if there are enough attendees. For this reason, please send us an email at improv@thezest.ch to be placed on the attendance list (you only need to do this once). That way, we will contact you to let you know if the improv session will go ahead or not. Your email will not be used for any other purpose and you can unsubscribe at any time.
Coronavirus
Following changes to the BAG restrictions, certificates will no longer be required to attend in-person events. Some venues still require us to wear masks despite the changes, which we must abide by. Please do not attend an event if you have COVID-like symptoms.
